Examples of Duties:

The In-School Resource Teacherassigned to support Logan Memorial Education Campuswill serve as the High School Restorative Justice Rescource teacher expected to:

  • Provide Professional Development and Educational Resources for Principals and Teachers.
  • Provide Coaching (including modeling lessons co-planning and co-teaching).
  • Attend Professional Development and Meetings and Trainings around RJP.
  • Perform related duties as assigned (Must be supplemental not mandated or compliance).
  • Provide support and training to school staff on restorative justice practices and SDUSDs Restorative Discipline Policy daily.
  • Respond and provide interventions to support students in the areas of attendance and behavior as outlined in the Restorative Discipline Policy.
  • Model and facilitate restorative justice interventions for staff and students.
  • Coordinate and manage student restorative justice conferences with students leading.
  • Maintain an active involvement in the schools community by cultivating positive relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Use a student lead model to cultivate student RJP leaders.
  • Attend professional learning days and release days for professional learning throughout the 25-26 school year.
  • Coordinates the implementation of restorative practices; provides training on restorative justice practices and procedures; trains staff to serve as restorative justice facilitators; conducts restorative circles and meetings with staff and students; provides support to staff and students for behavior conflict resolution.
  • Tracks and assesses intervention efforts; facilitates individual staff meetings PD and student appointments. Assist site administrators to utilize restorative practices within the community as well as local organizations and institution partnerships to ensure supports for students.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

Qualified applicants must have experiencein Restorative Justice Practice 3 years high school experience classroom experience acceptable.

Licenses and Other Requirements:

Valid California Multiple Subject Teaching Credentialby the closing date of the application deadline.

The examination process will consist of an application screening based on the candidates education work history and responses to the supplemental questions. Professional References will be contacted for candidates who are selected to proceed in the examination process. Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications are not guaranteed advancement through any subsequent phase of the examination. Candidates selected to proceed in the examination process will be invited to an interview. Applicants who pass the examination process will be placed on an eligible list for a period of one school year. The eligible list will be used to fill vacancies at various school sites.
