Job Summary
Job Title: Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
Location: New York NY (Manhattan)
Assignment Duration: 14 Weeks
Schedule: Monday Friday 8:00 AM 4:00 PM
Hours: 35 hours per week
Compensation:
Local: $50$60/hour (Weekly: $1750$2100)
Travel: Up to $72/hour (Weekly: up to $2520 inclusive of stipend where applicable)
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a compassionate and clinically skilled Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) to support a Child & Adolescent Psychiatry service within a hospital-based setting. This role is well-suited for a social worker with a strong interest in pediatric mental health who excels in a fast-paced interdisciplinary environment. The LMSW will provide essential psychosocial support crisis intervention and discharge planning for children and adolescents experiencing acute psychiatric needs.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Services: Provide direct social work services to pediatric and adolescent patients within the psychiatry department.
Assessment & Treatment Planning: Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments and actively participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning.
Care Coordination: Lead and support discharge planning efforts collaborating with families schools and community-based resources.
Patient Advocacy: Deliver trauma-informed patient-centered care while advocating for appropriate services and supports.
Documentation: Complete accurate timely clinical documentation in compliance with hospital policies and New York State regulations.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
Licensure: Active and unrestricted LMSW license issued by NYSED (required).
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of professional LMSW experience
Prior experience working with children and adolescents (required)
Hospital or acute care experience strongly preferred
Technical Skills: Proficiency with electronic medical records and virtual communication platforms (e.g. WebEx phone-based meetings).
