OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY
Responsible for assisting the Executive Director by providing leadership and direction by planning implementing providing training developing support materials and supervising curricular support and programs. Provides assistance to the Administrative Director in implementing District policy as it relates to their specific area of responsibility for the various organizational functions of School Leadership and Performance.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
1. Assists the Executive Director in monitoring of instructional programs districtwide and services for students.
2. Assists with the development of appropriate procedures for the administrative programming review for school site visitations and instructional program reviews.
3. Provides information and makes presentations concerning the program curriculum to administrative and instructional personnel parents students civic and professional groups and community agencies.
4. Supervises and provides instructional technical support and assistance in support for follow-up activities that support school improvement and services to at-risk students in mediating solutions to issues between the students home and the school while addressing individual educational needs of students in Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS).
5. Assists the Executive Director in supervising instructional personnel employees performance support provided and implemented at the school site.
6. Assists the Executive Director with communication to District instructional personnel school personnel parents and community members regarding the vision mission and implementation of the project.
7. Develops and maintains working relationships with district offices public and private sector partnerships and colleges and universities that provide services to participating students to facilitate student success.
8. Plans and coordinates events and initiatives that promote stakeholder engagement and collaboration in support of district instructional priorities and program goals.
9. Develops and maintains systems to collect and store data and provides beginning of year quarterly and end of year data reports for upper management school sites and partners.
10. Performs other duties related to the general administrative responsibilities of the position.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This work requires the following physical activities: sitting mobility lifting finger dexterity grasping repetitive motions talking hearing and visual acuity. The work is performed primarily indoors.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Masters degree in elementary or secondary education certification in administration and/or supervision or educational leadership or a documented approved plan to achieve such certification within two (2) years.
- Minimum of three (3) years teaching experience.
- Minimum of two (2) years as a department chairperson or other leadership experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms.
