Leads the overarching strategy external partnering and enterprise orchestration for Novartis Cardiovascular Disease Prevention agenda. This role is responsible for shaping and executing a movement to make CV prevention the new gold standard in US healthcare driving portfolio differentiation and long-term impact across the ecosystem. The Head of Disease Prevention will serve as the external narrative architect and business planner convening stakeholders and building coalitions to reorient the paradigm from reactive treatment to proactive prevention.Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Develop and articulate the vision for scaled CV prevention ensuring alignment with Novartis long-term business-building objectives and external market trends.
External Partnering: Build and manage relationships with key external partners including pharmacy chains large employers health systems consumer tech platforms and advisory councils. Lead exploratory workshops and partnership negotiations to advance prioritized concepts (Consumer Activation Employer Programs Pharmacy Prevention Hub CV Compass).
Internal Leadership: Guide cross-functional teams (medical marketing analytics technology legal finance) to ensure seamless execution of the CV prevention strategy. Oversee resource allocation hiring and team development for critical early hires and operational leads.
External Narrative & Advocacy: Represent Novartis as a convener and pioneer in CV prevention shaping public dialogue driving policy advocacy and leading communications and PR campaigns to raise awareness and activate stakeholders.
Business Planning & Execution: Develop business plans financial projections and execution roadmaps. Oversee pilot launches demo projects and stage-gating processes to validate impact and scalability. Track KPIs and ensure data-driven decision-making.
Essential Requirements:
Education: Bachelors degree in a related field is required; Master of Science and/or MBA preferred
Work Experience:
10 years in pharmaceutical biotech healthcare or healthcare consulting industry
Proven track record in strategic leadership business building and alliance management within healthcare ideally with experience in chronic disease prevention or cardiovascular health.
Entrepreneurial mindset with operational experience and a strong network across relevant segments
Ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams manage complex projects and drive consensus among diverse stakeholders
Deep understanding of the US healthcare ecosystem incentive structures and barriers to preventive care
Experience with data-driven program management KPI tracking and financial planning
Commitment to compliance privacy and ethical standards in all activities
Desirable Requirements:
Expertise in external communications public affairs and policy advocacy
The salary for this position is expected to range between $236600.00 and $439400.00 per year.
The final salary offered is determined based on factors like but not limited to relevant skills and experience and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. Novartis may change the published salary range based on company and market factors.
Your compensation will include a performance-based cash incentive and depending on the level of the role eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards.
