Job Summary
Overview
Shift: Day/Night rotation; 7a-7p/7p-7a; 12-hour shifts; Every 3rd weekend and holiday rotation
Shift differentials available for qualifying shifts
Sign-On Bonus of $10000 for full time offers
Relocation bonus of $10000 for full time offers if relocating more than 50 miles
Provides care for Critically ill patients in a 36 bed mixed critical care unit in a level 1 critical care unit. RN is primary care giver for patients including but not limited to: trauma open heart renal cardiac pulmonary general surgery sepsis and general medical. As a member of the interdisciplinary team contributes professional nursing knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to patients and their families. Maintains a practice environment that reflects the ANA Code for Nurses Philosophy of Nursing at UnityPoint Health with in the structure of the Professional Nurse Practice Model and in collaboration with other care givers. Acts in accordance with DNV Primary Stroke Center guidelines and educational requirements therein.

Responsibilities
Applications are accepted year round but we encourage you to apply during your last semester of nursing school. Start dates are dependent on licensure onboarding unit availability as well as your personal preference.
All newly licensed RNs with less than six months of acute RN experience at the time of application are required to participate in the RN Residency program. Newly licensed nurses must apply for Registered Nurse Residency.

Responsibilities:Successfully functions as a Registered Nurse as defined in Iowa Nursing Regulations and Practice Act. Provides nursing care for patients and families and maintains a practice environment that reflects the ANA Code for Nurses Philosophy of Nursing at UnityPoint Health-Des Moines within the structure of the Professional Nurse Practice Model and in collaboration with other care givers.

Qualifications
Education:
- Graduate of accredited nursing program.
License(s)/Certification(s):
- Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa.
Experience:
- Newly licensed nurse within the last six months or less than six months acute RN experience.
Other:
- Level 3 Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Completion of residency program within the first 12 months of employment.
