Job Summary

The Material Planner at JR286 is responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient flow of materials to support production schedules by coordinating with factories and suppliers managing material inventory levels and working closely with the planning production and development teams to meet customer demands.

What Youll Do:

Review verify and approve Material Authorization (MA) requests for factories to purchase materials that meet customer demand. During the MA review process ensure that material information is accurate and aligned with the latest data. Making the most optimized buy decisions
Update the MA approval tracker and share the MA approval tracker report after each buy summary and analyze the leftover quantities purchased due to MOQ and any surcharges approved for material purchasing for the current buy.
Review and approve debit note surcharges for factories ensuring that all charges are accurate and justified. Communicate with factories and all related teams to resolve any discrepancies and ensure that the surcharges are processed in a timely manner.
Working with factories suppliers and related teams to ensure material deliveries are timely aligning with production schedules and meeting order delivery requests.
Address all problems related to material shortages quality issues or logistical challenges to maintain smooth production operations.
Support the disposal process for obsolete materials in compliance with company SOP and policies.
Proactively identify abnormalities and opportunities for process improvement.
Assess the performance of factories to ensure they meet delivery schedules and collaborate effectively on material planning activities.
Generate and analyze ad hoc reports as needed to provide insights into proper decision making
Monitor and document leftover materials after each purchase for accurate stock recording and develop a database of materials used during the season.
Provide comprehensive support for the material database including data entry maintenance and updates. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of material records

What to Bring:

Bachelors degree in supply chain management Business Administration or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of recent experience in material planning inventory management or a similar role in large-scale retail environment specifically in allocating footwear apparel accessories or fashion-based products.
Proficient in using spreadsheets such as Excel and Google Sheets as well as PowerPoint and SharePoint/Box for file management.
Meticulous attention to detail to ensure data accuracy.
Strong communication skills for effective coordination with suppliers and internal teams.
Ability to work independently proactively address and resolve issues and efficiently manage time to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
Must be decisive able to take risks and confident in decision-making.
Capable of working in a team environment contributing to team goals and being a dynamic team player.

Additionally:

This position typically operates in an office environment but may require occasional visits to production sites or supplier locations.
