IMC is currently hiring a Physician Practice Specialistfor the Jeanerette Rural Health Clinic (JRHC) who underthe general supervision of the practice supervisor the Practice Specialist isrequired to have knowledge to perform all roles in the clerical officewhich includes but not limited to: answer phones and take detailed messagesgreet and/or assist patients knowledge of practice management system (Caretracker)checking in/out of patients input demographics verify insurance collectionof co-pays/coinsurances knowledge and input of billing closeout/balancecharges and payments at the end of clinic. Scheduling patients with referringphysician offices precertification and scheduling of hospital proceduresassist in other clinics as directed by supervisor and assist in training of newemployees.
EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or equivalent and certification from billing or coding program
TRAINING/EXPERIENCE
- Minimal one-year commutative workingexperience in some type of billing and coding position if possible. Must havehad exposure in previous jobs with working and communicating with the public asa customer. Medical practice background preferred.
- At least 3-5 years previous experiencein the filing and collection of Medicaid rules and regulations.
JOB KNOWLEDGE
- Medicaid rules and regulations as itpertains to office visits
- Insurance rules and regulations as it pertainsto office visits
PRINCIPLE TASKS DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Answers phones and takes detailed messages
- Prepares charts for clinic
- Greetsand assists patients
- Assist with registration inputting demographics
- Verifying of insurance
- Collecting and entering of charges and payments
- Balances charges and payments at the end of clinic.
- Communicates with referringoffices in gaining necessary information.
- Assists in training new employees.
