Job Overview:

  • Enthusiastically represents United Parks & Resorts by displaying a positive attitude maintaining a high level of energy and commitment to quality throughout all aspects of the job.

What you get to do:

  • Assist show performers with costumes before and after shows
  • Create venue documents
  • Preset a large inventory of costumes daily based off cast schedules
  • Perform light sewing repairs
  • Hand and machine wash a large volume of costumes daily
  • Perform daily venue procedures including cleaning organization and inventory
  • In some cases perform stagehand duties during shows
  • Receive sort and put away laundry/costumes
  • Complete daily weekly and monthly paperwork

What it takes to succeed:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 18 years old
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills; able to read write and speak English
  • Previous theater/costuming experiencepreferred
  • Multi-task and adapt to changes in a fast paced work environment
  • Available to work varying shifts or hours based on park hours; i.e. be able to work opening and closing shifts
  • A valid state drivers license and be able to obtain a company drivers license

Availability:

  • This is a seasonal role
  • During the peak season must have 5 days of unrestricted availability to include the weekends
  • You must be able to work varied schedules including nights weekends and holidays
  • The Sesame Place season runs from March 2026 through Labor Day 2026 with onboarding and all required training to be completed prior to the start of the season.
  • Hours my fluctuate based on business need; may be scheduled up to 40 hours weekly.

What else is important:

  • Must be able to lift push pull and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout entire work shift and climb/ascend heights if needed.
  • Perform the following physical activities: kneeling squatting bend floor-to waist/waist-to-overhead reach overhead simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing).
  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather to include extreme heat. Position may be exposed to fumes dust odors and cold/heat temperature extremes.
  • Perform cleaning duties including use of cleaning chemicals.
  • Work a flexible schedule/hour based on business need to include opening mid- and closing shifts; nights weekends and holidays.
  • Must be flexible in work locations as placement will depend on business needs and career development opportunities.

Compensation:

  • 16.90 per hour
