Job Summary

We Are Hiring:Administrative Coordinator- WMH PPAC- 0.9 FTE

Schedule: Monday through Friday position with hours of operation between 0500 and 1630. Position will work 8-hour shifts with typical mix of early morning shifts from 0500-1330 and 0730-1600.

The Day Surgery Unit is a 24 bed Outpatient/Ambulatory Surgery unit. The staff provide pre and post-operative/procedural care to Surgery Interventional Radiology and select populations of Radiology patients receiving anesthesia services. An average of 30 patients per day begin in day surgery with the majority of patients being discharged the day of their procedure and some admitted to critical or inpatient units.

The PPAC is a telephonic patient care unit whose staff provides vital information to patients before their surgical cardiac radiology and GI procedures. The staff in this department provide comprehensive patient evaluations as well as educate patients regarding anesthesia services and provide critical instructions. Pre-procedure assessment includes the identification of any medical problems that need to be addressed prior to surgery and communicates test results to appropriate providers. The goal of their activities is to reduce day of procedure/surgery cancellations. Documentation of all information obtained is in the EHR.

What You Will Do:

Position will support patient admission to day surgery department as well as clerical duties in supporting the pre procedure assessment center contacting patients making appointments and gathering information from Epic.

What You Will Need:

High School Diploma- or equivalent

Knowledge of medical terminology patient care quality standards health insurance verification regulatory compliance standards andElectronic health records (EHR) software.

Knowledge of medical reimbursement helpful.

Work performed requires Excel Outlook other Microsoft Office Suite applicationsEpic Kronos and SharePoint skills.
