We areseekinga talented individual to join ourDefined Contribution Consultingteam atMercera Marsh business. This role will be based anywhere near a Merceroffice with slight preference in the West.This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
As a Senior Defined Contribution Consultant you will partner with other Retirement and Investments colleagues and client managers to tell the story that differentiates Mercer. You will be expected to take the lead in selling and delivering non-investment related project work and retainer servicesto existing Mercer clients and prospects. You will work with clients that sponsor large defined contribution plans (typically over $1Bin assets) by designing customized solutions to meet their strategic needs. You will be expected to bring leadership andexpertiseto both the local market and the broader national DC Consultingteam andparticipate in the development of intellectual capital and mentoringjunior consultants.
We will count on you to:
Cultivateleadandparticipatein new business proposals to prospects and extend the range of services provided to existing Mercer clients asappropriate;identifyingopportunities to sell DC consulting services anddeveloping new client relationships will be a focus
Serve asone ofMercersexpertsinternally and in the marketplace on defined contribution plans
Sellleadand deliver client projects involving plan design recordkeeping vendor management vendor search and fee benchmarking Committee governance compliance reviews and administration consultingtoprimarily corporate plansponsorswithcomplex DCprograms
Assistwith the expansion of services to existing clients bymaintainingongoing relationshipsidentifyingopportunities for expandedservicesand supporting investment retainer clients
Help to guide and direct execution of long-term DC strategy while providing direction and focusinthe local market; engage and train staff to deliver services to large or jumbo clients
Routinely use Mercer intellectual capital andparticipatein development of DC intellectual capital for the US
Mentor junior staff to enhance technical knowledge as well as client facing skills and expand DCexpertisethrough regular project interactions and direct coaching
Participate in internal initiatives to support the growth of the DC Retirement business
Stay current with the DC regulatory and legislative landscape to bring awareness to clients and internal staff as appropriate
What you need to have:
Bachelors degree
Minimum 10 years experienceinconsultingon DC non-investmentissueswith proven ability to sell and deliver Defined Contribution retirement consulting services to senior business leaders
Expert working knowledge of retirement plan design and operations: nondiscrimination testing complianceplanadministrationand governance as well as the relevant DC vendor marketplace
Experienceworking with andpresenting toFortune 500retirementcommitteesexecutive leadershipcommitteesand C-level executives
Proven sales results selling DC consulting services
Experienceleadinglarge complex projects and managing client expectations
Risk identification and implementation of solutions for clients
Time management
