Job Summary

The School of Life Sciences at Arizona State University (ASU) invites applications for a full-time benefits eligible tenure-track assistant professor position in the generation and regeneration of complex tissues with an anticipated start date of August 16 2026. Research areas of interest include the molecular cellular and genetic mechanisms of stem cell biology regeneration and development of complex tissues with special consideration for applicants using cutting-edge approaches.

About School of Life Sciences

With more than 100 full-time faculty members and strong undergraduate and graduate training programs the School of Life Sciences (SOLS) ( has wide-ranging expertise across the breadth of biological sciences that supports and encourages multiple interdisciplinary research initiatives. This position will be part of an institutional initiative and planned cluster of hires to advance the field of development and regeneration of complex tissues in collaboration with the School of Biological and Health Systems Engineering (SBHSE). Faculty members in SOLS and SHBSE are primarily located in modern laboratories in the heart of the Tempe AZ campus. Essential Functions:

Establish a productive nationally recognized research program

Acquire extramural funding at the level necessary to support the research program

Publish in appropriate journals in the field of expertise

Teach in person and/or online including cell biology genetics developmental biology or related courses

Provide service to the school college university and to the community and profession commensurate with 20% effort

Required Qualifications:

A Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in developmental biology molecular and cellular biology stem cell biology or related field

Postdoctoral or equivalent experience

Record of publications in peer-reviewed journals commensurate with career stage

Interest in teaching and mentoring at the undergraduate and graduate levels

Desired Qualifications:

Evidence of success in obtaining grants and/or fellowships commensurate with career stage

Participation in collaborative research

Demonstrated commitment to working with faculty staff students and communities to advance the principles of the ASU Charter
