Today Cardiovascular disease is the #1 cause of mortality in the US responsible for 1 in 5 deaths and projected to exceed $1.1 trillion in annual direct health care cost and lost productivity by 2035. By identifying risk factors and taking action early we could prevent 80% of heart attacks strokes and early deaths from cardiovascular disease. Yet a system built to treat sickness instead of preventing it has kept us from making progress.

This is why we as a long-time leader in cardiovascular health have made a commitment to change this. We want to ignite a revolution in US healthcare a movement that will make prevention of cardiovascular disease the new gold standard. Reporting into the Head of Cardiovascular Disease Prevention this role will be part of the founding team of a new business unit we have created which will drive concrete innovative initiatives to bring about ecosystem-wide change. The Director Consumer Activation will lead ecosystem partnering initiatives and operational execution of our consumer activation strategy which aims to drive mass-scale consumer engagement around heart health through a technology-enabled gamified consumer experience. You will seek out potential partners design innovative solutions and work across functions and industries to bring them to market with an aim to drive improved outcomes and longer health span for people living with cardiovascular risk factors.


Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Lead market research partner mapping and consumer insights initiatives to inform activation strategies

Lead exploratory conversations as well as assessment of strategic fit with consumer tech wearable platform providers and other potential partners

Oversee design and launch of heart score and consumer-facing digital platforms and engagement campaigns in close collaboration with partners and internal cross-functional team across RDC continuum

Spearhead progress towards MoUs and partnering agreements; manage external partnerships and ensure continued strategic alignment

Coordinate x-functional teams (marketing medical tech analytics) to ensure seamless execution

Track and report on KPIs related to consumer awareness activation and engagement

Ensure compliance with regulatory and privacy requirements for consumer data

Represent the initiative in external forums conferences and partnership meetings

Essential Requirements:

Education: Bachelor degree required advanced degree preferred

8 years in pharmaceutical biotech consumer healthcare or healthcare consulting industry

8 years in commercial strategy partnering or marketing roles within or outside the healthcare industry

Experience with performance tracking KPIs and analytics

Entrepreneurial mindset with operational experience and high technology acumen

Ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams manage complex projects and drive consensus among diverse stakeholders

Desirable Requirements:

Consumer healthcare experience

Technology consumer experience and/or product design experience

The salary for this position is expected to range between $185500.00 and $344500.00 per year.

The final salary offered is determined based on factors like but not limited to relevant skills and experience and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. Novartis may change the published salary range based on company and market factors.

Your compensation will include a performance-based cash incentive and depending on the level of the role eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards.
