About the role:

We are seeking an experienced highly organised and politically astute Senior Member Support Officer to provide highlevel confidential administrative and organisational support primarily to the Leader of Wirral Council. This is a fastpaced highprofile role at the heart of the Councils political leadership.

Working as part of a small team you will play a key part in ensuring the smooth daytoday running of the Leaders office through effective diary management communication handling and stakeholder engagement enabling the Leader to fulfil their responsibilities on behalf of Wirral Council and as a Political Group Leader.

Building positive working relationships with councillors senior officers and external partners is essential.

As part of a small dedicated Member Support Team you may also be required to provide support to other Group Leaders when business needs require and respond to enquiries from any of Wirrals 66 Councillors.

About the candidate:

You will be an experienced personal assistant or senior administrator who thrives in a highpressure highprofile or political environment. You will be highly organised confident dealing with senior stakeholders with the ability to exercise sound judgement discretion confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

You should be competent using digital systems able to analyse information effectively and work at pace to ensure the Leaders Office is responsive and provides accurate outcomes to all stakeholders. You will be proficient in the use of Microsoft packages. The role requires someone who works collaboratively shows initiative and can support others to deliver results.

Experience supporting councillors or working within a local authority environment would be an advantage as would familiarity with a case-work management system.
