Investigation Diligence & Compliance Intern

Join Krolls Global Investigation Diligence & Compliance Team and gain hands-on experience in the dynamic field of Investigation Diligence & Compliance. We are seeking motivated and detail-oriented individuals to contribute as new joiners here at Kroll.

Through a combination of expertise global research capabilities and flexible technology tools the Intern Investigation Diligence & Compliance practice of Kroll helps clients take a risk-based approach toward meeting obligations or remediating failures regarding anti-bribery anti-corruption and related regulatory mandates. This internship will be particularly focused on developing your open-source intelligence (OSINT) and social media investigations skills the building blocks of modern investigations.

Interns support the overall research and investigative due diligence process at the company. Interns will be exposed to investigative due diligence practices used globally to mitigate the impact of reputational risk fraud and corruption. The right candidate will have outstanding English reading and writing skills meticulous attention to detail a sense of curiosity the ability and enthusiasm to learn quickly and a dedication to client satisfaction.

  • Conduct increasingly complex English-language research using public record databases commercial and proprietary databases media sources and the Internet
  • Perform using OSINT techniques detailed reviews of subjects digital footprints with a focus on social media content
  • Conduct social media analysis within an agreed framework of reputational causes of concern
  • Assist with analyzing and synthesizing relevant research findings
  • Write well-structured concise logical and objective reports to provide real Kroll clients with an accurate assessment of the findings

REQUIREMENTS:

  • For this internship availability to work roughly 20 hours (or more) per week remotely with opportunities to work in-person from a local Kroll office (see below)
  • Currently pursuing undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited US college or university
  • Major GPA of at least 3.5
  • Native or equivalent English language proficiency in reading comprehension
  • Expected to graduate date of December 2026 December 2027
  • Extremely strong English-language writing skills
  • Ability to prioritize several projects and assignments on multiple topics while meeting tight deadlines
  • Ability to conduct online research using various primary and secondary sources
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced collaborative environment
  • Ability to understand accept and apply constructive feedback

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Ability to start immediately
  • Proficiency in Spanish is highly desired
  • Organizational and time management competencies
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Interest and understanding of current events international affairs financial regulations and economics and/or finance; with consideration for the social media commentary and movements that emerge in response
  • Proficiency in additional languages
  • The ability to participate in in-office events at our Boston Los Angeles New York or San Francisco offices
