Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced PCU/MSDU Registered Nurse to join a high-acuity intermediate care unit within a tertiary care hospital. This unit provides step-down care for adult patients requiring continuous telemetry and pulse-oximetry monitoring advanced airway support and IV infusion management.

Scheduling & Requirements

Shift: 3x12 Nights
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
First-Time Travelers: Accepted
Local Candidates: Must reside outside a 75-mile radius
Years of Experience Required: Minimum 1 year

Licensure & Certifications

Active New York State RN License REQUIRED (in hand no exceptions)
BLS Required

Clinical Skills & Competencies

Cardiac & Emergency Response

Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
Management of cardiac dysrhythmias
Rapid Response and Code Team participation

IV & Line Management

Peripheral IV therapy and phlebotomy
Central line awareness and arterial line exposure

Respiratory Care

Oxygen delivery via nasal cannula and face masks
Portable oxygen tanks
Non-invasive airway management (including BiPAP)

General Nursing Skills

Isolation precautions
Care of patients requiring titrated IV medication infusions
Ability to manage 1:5 to 1:7 patient ratios (MedSurg/Stepdown acuity)
