AECOM is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to support our multi-disciplinary design team addressing the most challenging engineering tasks in power generation. AECOMs broad technical capabilities global footprint and experience in executing large scale projects uniquely position us to lead in traditional steam thermal power generation renewables and advanced nuclear technologies. This includes being a part of the first-of-a-kind program with AECOM partners advancing the innovative stellarator technology to the world.
this role AECOM offers the freedom and flexibility to work remotely and/or be located at a variety of Energy offices located in multiple locations across the United States. The successful candidate will have a high level of understanding and experience in structural engineering design and technology principles for heavy industrial and power generation projects. The responsibilities of this role also include but may not be limited to the following:
- Serve as lead engineer on all size projects maintaining responsibility for deliverable development (Engineering of Record).
- Responsible for managing monitoring and tracking discipline team progress against project budget and schedule.
- Coordination with the structural CAD design team to direct completion of engineering drawings.
- Develop task and deliverable list with associated hours estimate and schedule to support business development activities.
- Supports multi-discipline collaboration on the development of shared reports documents and drawings.
- Provides technical expertise for risk assessments due diligence and other studies presenting complex technical solutions to clients.
- Perform engineering calculations and develop structural analysis models to support and direct construction deliverables (specifications reports drawings).
- Supporting projects through complete life cycle including the feasibility phase preliminary and detailed design issue-for-bid construction start-up and commissioning.
- Provide quality control reviews of work developed by others.
- Provide mentorship to other engineers early in their career.
- Interact with vendors regulatory agencies and contractors.
- Assist with internal and external presentations.
- Participating in and presenting at meetings including those requiring occasional travel.
- Ensure that the technical and safety standards are maintained in all aspects of the design work.
Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements
- BA/BS in Civil or Structural Engineering 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education from an accredited university.
- 6 years of relevant heavy industrial and/or power generation experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10 years of related civil or structural engineering experience.
- 5 years of experience as project technical structural lead/structural engineer of record
- PE licensure.
- Advanced experience of structural steel design and reinforced concrete design.
- Expert in design/building codes such as AISC ACI 318 International Building Code ASCE 7 (Design Loads and Associated Criteria for Buildings and Other Structures) and OSHA.
- Proficient in structural analysis software such as STAAD Pro.
- Experience with civil drainage and sitework design.
- Knowledge and skill with AutoCAD 3D software.
- Substation structural project experience.
- Open-minded to innovation.
