50% - Recruitment Programs & Initiatives:
- Present in-person and online information sessions and webinars for prospective graduate students.
- Collaborate with GEM staff graduate program coordinators and campus partners to develop and implement information sessions webinars and recruitment events.
- Represent GEM at local recruitment events (e.g. tabling at graduate school and professional fairs).
- Serve on panels about the graduate student experience and advice for prospective students.
- Lead campus tours for prospective graduate students upon request.
- Support Explore Graduate School Week in-person and virtual events as needed.
- Travel to regional graduate school and professional fair events to represent the University of Kansas.
40% - Outreach & Support:
- Email call and text prospective graduate students utilizing the Slate Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) system.
- Provide information to prospective graduate students regarding on-campus and community resources including financial opportunities housing career services the writing center etc.
- Meet prospective graduate students upon request to share program information and provide application support.
5% - Professional Development:
- Attend meetings within GEM and Enrollment Management.
- Attend bi-weekly 1:1 meetings with direct supervisor.
- Participate in professional development opportunities related to recruitment and admissions (e.g. virtual webinars professional articles conference attendance etc.).
5% - Administrative Tasks:
- Gather and prepare Graduate School Viewbooks and/or swag items for upcoming events and/or upon request for campus recruiters/program coordinators.
- Triage questions to the GRS team faculty and/or program coordinators as appropriate.
- Other duties as assigned to support GEM unit.

Position OverviewGraduate Enrollment Management (GEM) is seeking a current full-time graduate student (masters or doctoral) to serve as a Graduate Assistant (GA). This position will serve as a representative of GEM and the University of Kansas to aid in the development and implementation of recruitment programs and initiatives provide outreach and support to prospective graduate students engage in professional development opportunities and provide administrative support.
The GA position is for Spring 2026. Upon a satisfactory evaluation the position may be extended for the duration of the graduate students course of study so long as it does not conflict with their academic work and/or GTA/GRA/GA appointment (if applicable).
