OverviewAnsible Government Solutions LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting a General Surgeon to provide onsite services to eligible beneficiaries of the Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center located at 4815 N. Assembly St. Spokane WA 99205. The schedule is typically Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm. Responsibilities- Provide fullscope General Surgery services including clinic visits consultations and surgical procedures.
- Be physically present and on time for all scheduled clinics and OR blocks (MonFri ).
- Perform preop intraop and postop care following VA and ABS standards.
- Communicate test results per VHA Directive 1088 and document all patient care in the VA electronic health record.
- Provide accurate discharge education and followup instructions.
- Follow medication and prescribing policies; no sample meds.
- Deliver care that meets or exceeds TJC VA and national clinical standards.
- Participate in required Quality Improvement M&M meetings OPPE/FPPE evaluations and other service meetings.
- Complete QM/PI documentation for all procedures complications and outcomes.
- Follow established patient safety and infection control standards; report safety incidents within 24 hours.
- Attend staff meetings as required and communicate any conflicts with the COR.
Qualifications- Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Surgery.
- Active full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State Territory Commonwealth or the District of Columbia.
- Physicians must have completed residency training approved by the Secretary of Veteran Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
- NPI report printout.
- Active DEA license.
- Must be able to pass a federal background investigation.
All candidates must be able to:
- Sit stand walk lift squat bend twist and reach above shoulders during the work shift
- Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
- Lift up to 20 lbs
- Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
- Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
