Job Focus Area
This Education Consultant 4 position is located within the Division of Literacy and reports to the classified Education Division Director of Literacy. This position supports the states academic strategy and vision and fulfills programmatic functions regarding all aspects of implementing the K-12 program components of high-dosage tutoring programs. Additionally performs duties relative to Accelerate: High-Dosage Tutoring and Steve Carter Education Program and serves as a subject matter expert leading development and implementation activities related to the states tutoring strategy for the Office of Teaching and Learning.
Minimum Qualifications
Eight years of experience in education teaching or administrative services; OR
Six years of full-time work experience plus five years of experience in education teaching or administrative services; OR
A bachelors degree plus five years of experience in education teaching or administrative services; OR
An advanced degree plus four years of experience in education teaching or administrative services.

Job Duties:
As an Education Consultant 4 you will:
- Directs the strategy development implementation and planning of the following projects/programs related to high dosage tutoring which directly aligns to the Office of Teaching and Learning strategy of meeting the needs of all students through extra time to learn to meet individual needs:
- Accelerate: High Dosage Tutoring
- Steve Carter Education Program
- Tutoring vendor strategy
- Continuous Learning Strategy
- Serves as the Departments expert in tutoring strategy tutoring models and schedules;
- Designs and implements pilot projects to improve extra time for learning initiatives on the basis of research national reports and policies
- Serves as a point of contact and works collaboratively with vendors through weekly meetings and in person trainings and events
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type:Probational Promotional or Job Appointment.The person hired for this position is expected to regularly report to the Baton Rouge office.Current permanent classified state employees may be required to accept a probationary appointment if selected.
Work Schedule:Work days are Monday - Friday; work hours will be determined.
Compensation:The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience. This position has a Special Entrance Rate (SER) of $31.25/hour.
**Note regarding the advertised pay range:The Education Consultant series have a special entrance rate that is above the minimum hire rate for these positions. The maximum amounts listed are the maximum salary amounts a person can make over their career and notthe maximum amount we are allowed to pay a new hire.
