AECOMs Enterprise Capabilities is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our office in Milan Italy.
The role is suited for engineers with around 5 years of experience in electrical building services critical facilities or infrastructure projects with exposure to data centers or mission-critical environments.
The position focuses on electrical design and project engineering support working within multidisciplinary teams on complex fast-paced projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design of electrical systems for data centers and similar mission-critical facilities including power distribution emergency power systems (UPS generators) lighting earthing and bonding systems.
- Perform electrical load calculations considering IT loads cooling systems and auxiliary services with awareness of future expansion and scalability.
- Assist in the specification and selection of transformers switchgear UPS systems distribution boards and protection devices in compliance with project requirements and applicable standards.
- Contribute to the development of reliable electrical architectures including basic redundancy concepts backup power solutions and automatic transfer systems.
- Coordinate with mechanical engineers to ensure proper integration between electrical systems and HVAC/cooling infrastructure including power supply for critical cooling equipment.
- Apply relevant national and international standards and guidelines under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Prepare and support the development of drawings technical reports and specifications. Interface with architects contractors and internal project teams.
- Support testing commissioning and site activities assisting in verifying installation compliance with design intent.
- Stay informed on data center technologies power reliability concepts and energy-efficient design strategies.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Approx. 5 years of professional experience in electrical design for buildings infrastructure or critical facilities.
- Basic experience or exposure to data center projects critical power systems or mission-critical environments.
- Familiarity with power distribution and emergency power systems electrical load calculations equipment sizing short-circuit or arc-flash studies and electrical codes and standards.
- Working knowledge of design tools such as AutoCAD and/or electrical calculation software.
- Experience with Revit/BIM for electrical systems.
- Ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary project teams.
- Good level of English written and spoken.
- Data centerrelated certifications are a plus not a requirement.
