Mercy Hospital is an 82 bed acute care hospital located in the scenic southwestern Colorado town of Durango. It is the only hospital in Colorado to be rated by Medicare with five stars for overall hospital quality. It is recognized for excellence in orthopedic and spine surgery and for outstanding patient experience and patient safety. Mercy has also received ten consecutive A grades for patient safety from The Leapfrog Group. Previous OR experience require- Min of 3yrs
Previous Surgical First Assisting experiencepreferred
Day to Day Duties :
Schedule- 40hr/wk-Days -variable days per surgical volume and current unit needs.
Call Required-Approx 5 call shifts in 6 weeks 1900-0700 weeknights andon weekends
30min Callback radius required. Sleep rooms available in House
Job Requirements
In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day qualified candidates will need the following:
- Three years operating room experience
- General knowledge of asepsis healing infectious disease process surgical
anatomy and physiology safety issues and operative techniques - Graduate from an accredited Surgical Assistant program required
- Certified as a one of the following: Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) by NBSTSA; Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) by NSAA; Surgical AssistantCertified (SAC) by ABSA
- Registered through DORA as a Colorado Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist
- License upon hire unless performing Surgical Assistant duties within the scope of another active Colorado license certification or registration (required for Colorado
employed staff only) - BLS from the American Heart Association required
Physical Requirements -Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally and/or up to 20lbs frequently and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
