The RN Electrophysiology Specialist is a valued member of the interdisciplinary care team who delivers high-quality patient-centered nursing care to individuals and families undergoing advanced cardiac electrophysiology procedures. This role integrates expert clinical judgment technical proficiency and compassionate care in a highly specialized procedural environment while practicing in alignment with professional nursing standards and organizational values.

Individuals in this role demonstrate competency in all procedural functions including circulator scrub monitor and supply and provide nursing care throughout complex diagnostic and interventional electrophysiology procedures. The nurse administers procedural sedation and continuously monitors patient response under physician supervision ensuring patient safety comfort and optimal clinical outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses the needs of patients and families providing appropriate teaching and making the necessary referrals to provide continuity of care.
  • Promptly completes documentation to assure an accurate legal record of patients care.
  • Assess and chooses teaching strategies appropriate to the patients and their families age specific needs culture gender readiness to learn and level of comprehension.
  • Continues professional development and involvement in professional activities that enhance nursing practice by sharing knowledge through networking and research.
  • Demonstrates and maintains proficiency in the manual skills and techniques required to operate specialized equipment in the Electrophysiology lab

Qualifications

Education:

  • Diploma from an RN program.

License(s)/Certification(s):

  • Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in primary state.
    • Must apply within 90 days for licensure in secondary state.
  • Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Must possess and maintain ACLS
  • Maintain Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES)
