Project Management Associate Permitting
Overview
Our client is a leading energy company seeking a motivated Project Management Associate to join their team in Juno Beach FL. This is an excellent opportunity for early-career professionals (0-5 years experience) to gain valuable experience in project coordination within the renewable energy sector specifically focusing on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) facilities.
Contract Details: 12-month contract On-site position
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage permit applications for BESS construction projects across multiple jurisdictions
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with local Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs)
- Track permit status and ensure timely submission of all required documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering construction and project management
- Interpret and apply local building codes zoning regulations and environmental requirements
- Prepare and review permit applications and supporting documentation
- Identify potential permitting issues early and develop proactive mitigation strategies
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all permit-related activities
- Attend pre-application meetings with regulatory agencies as needed
Requirements
- 0-5 years of experience in project management permitting or related field
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional team environments
- Experience with regulatory processes and permit coordination preferred
- Knowledge of building codes zoning regulations or environmental requirements a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools
- Bachelors degree preferred but not required with relevant experience
