About the Role
This is a hands-on engineering position focused on designing building and validating mechanical and electromechanical components used in surgical and orthopedic applications. You will take products from requirements through CAD prototyping fixture design and testing while solving complex engineering challenges in a fast-paced precision-driven environment.
Responsibilities
Design and develop manufacturable components assemblies and fixtures using SolidWorks or NX.
Support rapid prototyping and DFM for CNC-machined parts.
Build and test mechanical fixtures and tooling for verification and validation.
Execute testing in challenging environments including structural thermal high-current and cryogenic conditions.
Perform failure analysis root-cause investigations and create clear engineering reports.
Collaborate with manufacturing quality and operations teams to transition designs into production.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
3 years of R&D mechanical design or test engineering experience.
Proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks or NX).
Hands-on experience with fixtures prototype builds and test setups.
Strong analytical documentation and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Experience
Experience in medical device or other regulated manufacturing environments.
DFM for CNC machining and multi-component assemblies.
Experience with failure analysis instrumentation or thermal/mechanical testing.
