Job Summary

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Hillingdon to assist with the appointment of a Principle Private Sector Housing Officer on a 2-month contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 40.91 - 54.00 per hour

Summary:

The Private Sector Housing Officer will be part of a professional team delivering an efficient high-quality private sector housing service. The role focuses on improving housing standards across the private rented sector through inspections advice enforcement action and licensing activities ensuring homes are safe habitable and well managed.

Responsibilities

Investigate service requests and carry out inspections under the Housing Act 2004 Environmental Protection Act 1990 and related legislation
Inspect private rented sector properties including HMOs using the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS)
Draft schedules of works statutory notices and enforcement documentation
Process property licensing applications including inspections and assessment of management standards
Monitor compliance with licensing conditions and take enforcement action where required
Correspond with landlords and managing agents to achieve legislative compliance

Qualification:

Educated to degree or diploma level in a relevant area or equivalent and relevant operational experience
Post graduate qualification or similar in a relevant technical area.

Essentials:

Strong working knowledge of private sector housing and environmental health legislation
Experience of enforcement action within private sector housing
Ability to carry out property inspections across the borough

This role requires an Enhanced DBS
