Role Overview:
The Trainer will play a pivotal role in strengthening the capacity of frontline workers and mid-level functionaries to ensure the effective high-quality implementation of programme activities at the block level in the Gadchiroli district.
The primary focus of this role is to enhance programme quality through the timely planning and delivery of training courses on-site mentoring centre set-up support and continuous handholding of field staff.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Training Design & Delivery
- Plan organise conduct and document pre-service and in-service training for frontline workers and mid-level functionaries.
- Develop comprehensive training agendas session plans syllabi and training materials.
- Deliver high-quality participatory training sessions in both online and in-person formats.
- Address field-level challenges during training sessions and provide on-the-spot problem-solving support.
- Co-develop assessment and quality assurance tools to measure training effectiveness and ECCE implementation.
- Regularly upgrade and contextualise training materials and activities to enhance relevance and effectiveness.
- Collaborate on the development of modules syllabi ECE materials and other training resources.
2. Quality Assurance & Mentoring
- Ensure the quality of day-care programmes through regular field visits and systematic monitoring.
- Provide on-site mentoring and handholding support to supervisors and crèche workers to strengthen their Early Childhood Development (ECD) knowledge childcare practices and management skills.
- Share regular updates and feedback with concerned departments based on field observations.
3. Centre Set-Up & Operational Support
- Support efficient centre set-up and provide handholding support to fellow trainers frontline workers and mid-level functionaries during the initial phases.
4. Resource & Material Management
- Coordinate the renewal and replacement of Teaching Learning Materials (TLMs).
- Ensure proper storage maintenance of records and management of training materials in collaboration with the Supply team.
5. Financial Management
- Maintain accurate and transparent records of all training-related expenses.
- Implement cost-saving measures where possible and ensure the timely submission of expense reports.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
- Masters degree in Early Childhood Development (ECD) Social Sciences Psychology or Education is preferred.
Experience:
- Proven work experience of 23 years in conducting training workshops and capacity-building programmes.
- Experience delivering training in English Hindi and the local language.
Knowledge Areas:
- Strong understanding of ECCE (Early Childhood Care and Education) Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Gender Child Protection Disability Inclusion and Community Participation.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Training Facilitation: Strong skills in ECE training using participatory methodologies; ability to deliver both online and blended learning.
- Communication: Fluency in Hindi English and the local language is mandatory. Strong writing documentation and reporting skills.
- Creativity: Ability to create early childhood play materials using locally available low-cost and waste materials including traditional art forms.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to motivate build trust and effectively engage with grassroots-level audiences.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word PowerPoint Excel) and online training tools.
