Job Summary

Job Description:
The Head of HR for a steel manufacturing plantleads all HR functions (recruitment C&B talent IR/ER compliance L&D) ensuring alignment with business goals with a strong emphasis on **industrial relationsstatutory compliance(Factory Act ESI PF) and union management** in a heavy industrial environment bridging strategy with daily plant operations focusing on safety performance and cultural alignment for a large often unionized workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic HR:Develop and implement HR strategy aligned with plant/corporate objectives; manage HR budgets.
  • Talent Management:Oversee end-to-end recruitment (technical & leadership) onboarding performance management succession planning and leadership development.
  • Industrial & Employee Relations (IR/ER):Handle union negotiations grievance redressal disciplinary actions and maintain harmonious labor relations.
  • Compliance & Safety:Ensure 100% compliance with labor laws Factory Act CLRA ESI PF and promote a strong safety culture.
  • HR Operations:Manage payroll HRIS compensation & benefits and HR administration.
  • Stakeholder Liaison:Act as the primary contact for labor departments factories inspectorate and local authorities.
  • Culture & Engagement:Champion a positive work environment drive employee engagement and reinforce company values.
Essential Skills & Experience:
  • MBA/PGDM in HR from a reputed institute.
  • Extensive experience (10-20 years) in HR leadership with significant time in plant HR in heavy industries (Steel Metals Heavy Engineering).
  • Strong knowledge of Indian labor laws and factory administration.
  • Proven ability in managing large workforces including contract labor and handling unions.
  • Experience with HR transformation and digital tools (HRMS/ERP like SAP).
  • Excellent communication negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
