About the Role
The role of the Intellectual Property (IP) Specialist is to own the entire IP pipeline from disclosure drafting and prior art assessments to patent submission and engagement with external patent attorneys to oversee patent filing and assessment processes.
This role will take the lead in transforming complex technological concepts from ideation to fully formed defensible patents rapidly expanding Syentas IP portfolio and supporting the companys commercial ambitions. The IP Manager will act as the bridge between Syentas Technical Commercial and Legal operations.
Day to Day
- Oversee patent filings trade secret management and Freedom-to-Operate analyses including maintaining robust IP management policies and procedures.
- Work closely with the CTO Head of Technology Strategy and technical team leads to capture new inventions and expedite disclosure preparation and filing.
- Own the company IP roadmap and strategy to expand and process IP with high commercial impact in a timely manner.
- Perform internal prior art assessments of potential patentable inventions and identify potential risks to new patent filings.
- Manage key stakeholder relationships across technical and legal teams to streamline communications and information transfer.
- Manage strategic collaborations with external patent attorneys IP counsel and industry partners.
About You
- 3-8 years experience in either the semicon industry and/or IP and patent management.
- Bachelors degree in engineering science or a related field. Additional qualifications in Law or related field preferred.
- Experience/knowledge of semiconductor chip and/or advanced packaging technologies is highly recommended.
- Experience in IP portfolio management patent writing and the end-to-end patent submission process.
- Strong technical communication skills to translate complex ideas into a series of clear and defensive patent claims.
- Ability to communicate effectively between multi-disciplinary teams as well as external stakeholders.
- Analytical thinker with a strong attention to detail.
