This position is open now and will begin once onboarding is complete. Pay rates arebased on the adopted classified salary schedule for the 25-26 school year at this time (starting pay $22.16 / hr). This position is 4 hours per day 4 days per week during the school year and ishoused at Woodland Early Childhood Center. Hours are 11:30 a.m.-3:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday. Previous years of experience working as a certificated LPN will be credited to placement on the scale. An elementary nurse supervises the work in the health clinic as needed.
Position reports to elementary RN and building principal.
License from the State of Missouri to practice asas a Licensed Practical Nurse is required.

Purpose Statement
The job of Licensed Practical Nurse is done for the purpose/s of modifying or removing health-related barriers to learning and promoting an optimal level of wellness for students and staff; complying with the laws relating to student health including parental and guardian consent; providing appropriate care for ill medically fragile and/or injured students; providing health information and serving as a resource to teachers staff and administrators; and identifying health problems for referral for proper treatment.
Essential Functions Include:
- Administers mandated screenings (e.g. vision and scoliosis screenings etc.) for the purpose of referring medical conditions and/or providing appropriate care for ill medically fragile and/or injured children.
- Administers first aid medication and specialized medical treatments (e.g. suctioning catheterization etc.) for the purpose of providing appropriate care for ill medically fragile and/or injured children.
- Maintains students confidential files and records (e.g. health care plans agency referrals accident reports etc.) for the purpose of providing information required by legal requirements and professional standards.
- Maintains contact with parents/guardians for the purpose of advising them of changes in student health and/or recommending further medical and/or emotional intervention to a licensed professional.
- Participates in a variety of meetings workshops and seminars and interdisciplinary teams for the purpose of gathering conveying and/or sharing information on students health needs service delivery and educational programs; and/or improving skills and knowledge.
- Reports health and safety issues to assigned administrator and appropriate agencies (e.g. fights suspected child or substance abuse contagious diseases etc.) for the purpose of maintaining students personal safety a positive learning environment and complying with regulatory requirements and established guidelines.
- Responds to emergency medical situations (e.g. severe falls prescription reactions bleeding etc.) for the purpose of ensuring appropriate immediate medical attention and related follow-up action.
Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications
Responsibility
Responsibilities include: working under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods; directing
other persons within a small work unit; monitoring budget expenditures. Utilization of some resources from other work units may be required to perform the jobs functions. There is some opportunity to effect the organizations services.
Work Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands: occasional
lifting carrying pushing and/or pulling significant stooping kneeling crouching and/or crawling and significant fine
finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 20% sitting 40% walking and 40% standing. The job is performed in a
generally hazard free environment and in a clean atmosphere.
