BSL Learning Support Assistant Barking & Dagenham ASAP Start

Are you a qualified BSL Learning Support Assistant seeking a school-based role where inclusive communication and pupil support are a genuine priority

A welcoming primary school in Barking & Dagenham East London is looking to appoint a BSL Learning Support Assistant from January 2026 to support deaf and hearing-impaired pupils within a supportive and well-structured setting.

BSL Learning Support Assistant The Role

• Delivering specialist BSL support to pupils across the primary age range

• Supporting children on a one-to-one basis and in small groups

• Working alongside class teachers and SEN staff to adapt learning materials

• Supporting pupils communication confidence and social development

• Helping to ensure classrooms remain accessible and inclusive

BSL Learning Support Assistant Person Specification

• A recognised BSL Level 4 qualification (minimum)

• Experience supporting deaf or hearing-impaired children in a school or child-centred setting

• A calm patient and proactive approach

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• A genuine commitment to inclusive education

Contract and Pay

• Pay: 444 per week (term-time only pro rata)

• Contract: Full-time long-term

• Duration: January July (with potential to extend)
