About the job:

Job Summary:

We are seeking an IT Risk and Control Assurance specialist to join our Hong Kong branch. This role requires strong technical expertise excellent problem-solving abilities and clear communication skills to support a fast-paced collaborative environment.

The successful candidate will lead and enhance the technology risk and control environment across all of BBVAs Asian branches. Responsibilities span technology risk governance IT control testing and continuous improvement of the IT control frameworks.

This position will work closely with the Engineering Asia and Engineering RCA CIB teams to ensure consistent risk management practices support internal/external audits engage with regulators and maintain a secure and compliant technology environment across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

Risk Control Assurance

• Evaluate the effectiveness of controls defined in the IT Control Frameworks

• Monitor and track risk mitigation action plans to completion

• Ensure the proper execution of the risk admission process including risk criticality assessment and definition of the corresponding control framework for projects and initiatives

Audit

• Support the execution and completeness of internal and external audit processes related to IT

• Coordinate audit activities and facilitate the collection of required evidence.

Regulatory Compliance

• Act as a point of contact for any IT enquiry from local regulators

• Organize maintain and provide regulatory evidence in a structured and timely manner.

Required Qualifications:

• Educational: Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related STEM field.

• Experience: 5 years of experience in the IT industry with a minimum of 3 years in IT risk management preferably within the financial services sector. Familiarity with Asia-Pacific banking technology regulations.

• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of IT infrastructure and technologies including networks servers storage databases and cybersecurity.

• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and critical-thinking capabilities.

• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Chinese (Mandarin).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional certifications such as CISSP CRISC CISA or CISM are a plus
