Job Summary

Schedule Monday Friday 8am 12pm

Reports to: Pastor


Summary:

The Bulletin Editor is responsible for the design content curation and production of the weekly worship bulletin and digital newsletters. This role ensures that all communications are accurate visually engaging and aligned with the parishs mission to inform and inspire the congregation. The Bulletin Editor collaborates closely with clergy staff ministry leaders and volunteers to gather content and consistent voice across all publications.


Position Responsibilities:


Content Gathering & Coordination

  • Collect announcements liturgical elements readings and ministry updates fromstaff and ministry leaders.
  • Confirm accuracy of dates names events and theological or liturgical details.
  • Maintain acontent calendar to ensure timely submission of materials.

Editing & Writing

  • Edit all bulletin content for clarity grammar tone and theologicalappropriateness.
  • Write shortannouncements summaries or transitions when needed.
  • Ensurelanguage reflects the values and mission of the organization.

Design & Layout

  • Format thebulletin using the organizations preferred templates or software.
  • Arrangecontent in a clear readable and aesthetically consistent layout.
  • Incorporategraphics scripture passages hymns and liturgical elements asappropriate.

Production & Distribution

  • Preparefinal print-ready and/or digital files by established deadlines.
  • Coordinateprinting folding and distribution with volunteers or staff.
  • Uploaddigital bulletins to the website email system or worship presentationsoftware if applicable.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closelywith clergy to ensure liturgical accuracy and alignment with the worshipplan.
  • Communicatedeadlines and content needs to ministry leaders.
  • Supportother communication efforts (newsletters social media website updates) as needed.

*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and work with diverse groups of people including children adults volunteers and parish staff.

*Assist with service opportunities Vacation Bible School Halloween Carnival All Souls Day prayer service Christmas Childrens Mass Good Friday way of the cross Easter egg hunt and other events.

*Strong organizational and time management skills.

*Ability to work in fast-paced environment.

Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholicism and the mission of the parish. Must take opportunities offered to further own Faith Formation. Have self-knowledge and ability tot share the Catholic faith.

*Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral Policy is mandatory.

*Adhering to safety training and protocols and taking precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of self others.

*Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service to the parish.

Minimum Qualifications to include Knowledge and Skills:

  • Education
    • Bachelorsdegree in journalism communications or English
  • Experience
    • At least two(2) years experience in graphic design or related field
    • Experiencemanaging social media accounts for non-profit organization
  • Knowledge Skillsand Abilities
    • Creativeeye for design and readability
    • Collaborativepatient and able to work with diverse personalities and populations
    • Comfortableadapting to last minute changes common in worship planning
    • Bilingualin English and Spanish
    • Provenintermediate level of proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel Word PowerPoint Outlook).
    • Excellentattention to detail and strong organizational skills.
    • Strongwritten and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability tohandle sensitive information with integrity and discretion. Confidentialityis essential.
    • Must havegood critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
    • Must be detail oriented organized self-motivated work well independently andon a team.

Travel Requirements: Travel requirements for the position includes 10% local and 0% overnight.
