SALARY AND BENEFITS
Salary:$47496 - $92683 annually commensurate with experience and qualifications

ROLE AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The Physical Therapist for Early On serves as part of a team that works to meet the developmental needs of children through a multi-tiered system of supports. The Physical Therapist for Early On uses a coaching model to share with parents/caregivers/educational team members strategies to help the child develop new skills; services are provided in the childs natural environment.
Essential Duties (May include but not limited to):
- Consults counsels and collaborates with parents school personnel children and appropriate community agencies regarding behavioral and educational concerns developed in a multi-tiered system of support.
- Conducts physical therapy evaluations of children with suspected disabilities or special education students through the referral of Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team (MET) or Infant Development Assessment (IDA) process.
- Provides and coordinates physical therapy services to infants/children assigned to the caseload.
- Identifies the need for and provide cross training for team members.
- Attends MET and Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) meetings when requested.
- Develops individualized annual goals and short-term instructional objectives for children in the caseload as per physicians prescriptions.
- Maintains appropriate records.
- Employs physical and mechanical treatment methods.
- Coordinates the activities of and instructs physical therapist assistants and/or aid if assigned.
- Consults with staff parents/guardians physicians and others regarding physical therapy services and adaptive equipment.
- Assists children with adaptive equipment needs.
- Consistently models Win-Win leadership.
Other Duties:
- Drives to and from service sites including homes to deliver physical therapy services within the coaching model.
- Represents the district on various community service agencies and professional organizations as appropriate to the assigned area.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelors degree required. Michigan license as Physical Therapist required.
Experience:
Evidence of successful work with children with disabilities birth-to-five years preferred.
Skills/Other:
Must meet State of Michigan Department of Human Services Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry Clearance as applicable. Accepts and carries out specific assignments from the building principal/program administrator. Ability to communicate both orally and in written communications. Ability to work effectively with others. Demonstrated initiative and understanding in working with staff and parents/guardians. Ability to utilize district technology and work to maintain proficiency as required skill sets change with technology and/or the needs of the district. Demonstrated mental/physical ability and stamina for lifting children as required and for meeting the requirements of the position. Demonstrate honesty integrity and professionalism at all times. Ability to work a flexible workday work week and work year. Punctuality and good attendance are requirements for the position. Ability to make decisions in accordance with board policies and established procedures with minimum supervision.
