Work Shift: 40 hrs. per week M-F some on calls and weekends may be required

Work Location: University of Miami Hospital & Clinics - Cardiovascular Imaging UTower

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

• Participates in direct patient care and data reporting and collecting and develops automated storage for reporting cardiovascular information.
• Directs clinical research through coordination of studies and performance of information retrieval and manuscript preparation.
• Provides education and in-services to resident medical students fellows and physicians.
• Meets JCAHO standards by complying with corporate policy and procedures.
• Promotes teamwork with physicians and all healthcare providers to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction and appropriate resource management.
• Develops operating and capital budgets for the department and monitors established budgets.
• Maintains and updates policy and procedure manuals for the department.
• Maintains adequate supplies and evaluates equipment on a periodic basis to provide safe and efficient care and diagnosis for patients.
• Makes recommendations regarding hire discipline and promotion of staff authorizes leave and overtime and evaluates employee performance.
• Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with university policies and procedures.
• Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on university policy and procedures.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Bachelors degree in relevant field

Certification and Licensing:

Certification in relevant specialty or field

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience

Knowledge Skills and Attitudes:

• Knowledge of business and management principles
• Ability to direct manage implement and evaluate department operations.
• Ability to establish department goals and objectives that support the strategic plan.
• Ability to effectively plan delegate and/or supervise the work of others.
• Ability to lead motivate develop and train others.
