We are seeking a confident enthusiastic and experienced Year 5 Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive primary school in Wimbledon starting as soon as possible. The Role
As a Year 5 Teacher you will plan deliver and assess lessons across all subjects of the curriculum fostering resilience independence and positive learning behaviours. You will be responsible for tracking pupil progress differentiating teaching to meet individual needs and preparing pupils for the transition to Year 6.
You will collaborate closely with teaching assistants Key Stage 2 colleagues and senior leaders to maintain high standards and consistency across the year group. You will also engage with parents and carers to provide regular feedback on pupil progress and support homeschool learning partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
Plan deliver and assess engaging lessons across the Year 5 curriculum
Track and monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils including SEND and EAL learners
Promote independence resilience and positive learning behaviours
Maintain a structured inclusive and positive classroom environment
Collaborate effectively with teaching assistants and KS2 colleagues
Communicate clearly with parents and carers about pupil progress
Contribute to staff meetings CPD sessions and school improvement initiatives
Support extracurricular activities and enrichment opportunities as required
Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures at all times
Who Were Looking For
The ideal candidate will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Have experience teaching in Key Stage 2 ideally Year 5
Be confident delivering literacy numeracy and foundation subjects
Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills
Be reflective proactive and adaptable
Show a strong commitment to inclusion safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
Work collaboratively as part of a supportive and professional team
