Wayman Education is urgently seeking a proactive and technically proficient IT Technician for an immediate start at a forward-thinking secondary school in Hillingdon. This is a vital role within the schools infrastructure team ensuring that technology remains a seamless tool for both teaching staff and students.
You will provide essential front-line technical support across the school site. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable managing everything from hardware repairs to network troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Support: Respond to helpdesk tickets providing hardware and software support for desktop PCs laptops tablets and interactive whiteboards.
Network Maintenance: Assist in the management of the schools LAN/WAN infrastructure including Wi-Fi connectivity and server health checks.
User Management: Manage user accounts and permissions via Active Directory and Google Workspace or Microsoft 365.
Classroom Readiness: Ensure all AV equipment in classrooms and assembly halls is fully functional for daily use.
Security & Compliance: Assist with regular data backups anti-virus updates and ensuring GDPR compliance across all school systems.

Proven experience in a technical support role (experience within an educational setting is highly desirable).
Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11 ChromeOS and MacOS.
Experience with Active Directory Group Policy and cloud-based platforms (M365/Google Workspace).
Competency in hardware maintenance and peripheral troubleshooting.
A relevant IT qualification (e.g. CompTIA A Microsoft Certification) or equivalent hands-on experience.
An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
