We are seeking a caring patient and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Gillingham starting as soon as possible. The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant you will work closely with class teachers and the SENCo to provide targeted support for pupils with additional needs. Your responsibilities will include one-to-one support small-group interventions and in-class assistance to help pupils access the curriculum. You will play a key role in supporting pupils social emotional and behavioural development helping them to build confidence independence and resilience.
You will also liaise with parents carers and external professionals to ensure coordinated support contributing to personalised learning plans and strategies that help pupils thrive in school.
Key Responsibilities
Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with SEND
Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and EHCP targets
Support pupils academic social and emotional development
Promote positive behaviour independence and confidence
Observe record and report on pupil progress
Work closely with teachers SENCo and other support staff
Support pupils during transitions break times and structured activities
Contribute to staff meetings CPD sessions and school initiatives
Maintain a safe structured and inclusive learning environment
Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times
