We are seeking an experienced enthusiastic and dedicated Year 6 Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Norwich starting as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about Upper Key Stage 2 and enjoys preparing pupils for the transition to secondary school while delivering high-quality engaging lessons.

The Role
As a Year 6 Teacher you will plan deliver and assess lessons across the Key Stage 2 curriculum ensuring that all pupils make excellent progress academically socially and emotionally. You will support pupils learning in literacy numeracy and foundation subjects while fostering independence resilience and positive learning behaviours. You will also collaborate closely with teaching assistants colleagues and parents to provide consistent personalised support.
You will monitor pupil progress implement targeted interventions when needed and create a positive inclusive and structured classroom environment that encourages curiosity and confidence.
Key Responsibilities
Plan deliver and assess engaging lessons across the Year 6 curriculum
Deliver high-quality literacy numeracy and foundation subject teaching
Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils including SEND and EAL
Promote independence resilience and positive behaviour
Maintain a structured inclusive and engaging classroom environment
Track pupil progress and maintain accurate assessment records
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants colleagues and senior leaders
Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress
Contribute to staff meetings CPD sessions and school initiatives
Support enrichment activities school events and extra-curricular opportunities
Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times
Who Were Looking For
The ideal candidate will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Have experience teaching Upper Key Stage 2 ideally Year 6
Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills
Be reflective adaptable and proactive
Show a strong commitment to inclusion safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
Work collaboratively as part of a professional supportive team
