Role Snapshot
The Fabrication Welder is responsible for welding and fabricating components to print specifications in a manufacturing environment. This is a first-shift hands-on role requiring strong blueprint reading layout and fabrication skills. The ideal candidate can independently build from prints and meet production standards while maintaining quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate fabrication equipment including hand plasma cutters saws brake press and deburring equipment
- Weld quality parts to blueprint specifications using jigs when available
- Perform layout and fabrication work to print requirements
- Meet production standard times while maintaining weld quality
- Maintain a clean organized and safe work area
- Follow all safety procedures during welding and fabrication operations
Education & Experience Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required
- 5 years of fabrication welding experience required
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Proven experience laying out and fabricating parts to print
- MIG welding experience required
- Must pass an on-site weld test prior to placement
- Strong measurement skills including fractions decimals and angles
- Proficient with calipers tape measure (to 1/32) squares and angle squares
- Experience using hand tools air tools grinders overhead cranes and steel handling equipment
- Forklift experience or ability to be trained
