DevOps Cloud Engineer

Role Overview

The Client is seeking a Senior DevOps / Cloud Engineer to design build and support AWS based cloud environments for public sector health systems.

The role focuses on cloud infrastructure automation security monitoring and performance supporting highly available and secure solutions within the public health domain.

Key Responsibilities

• Design build and support AWS cloud environments for public health systems

• Manage and maintain production cloud infrastructure ensuring availability performance scalability and security

• Implement and automate cloud deployments using DevOps and CI CD practices

• Monitor cloud applications and infrastructure reviewing logs and metrics to proactively identify and resolve issues

• Implement cloud security controls to protect data integrity and prevent unauthorized access

• Support Linux environments including Red Hat and Solaris performing installation hardening troubleshooting and scripting

• Work with microservices and distributed architectures using containers Kubernetes and serverless technologies

• Design and implement monitoring logging and alerting solutions across AWS platforms

• Produce system design documentation integration plans technical specifications and implementation artifacts

• Collaborate with architects developers and stakeholders to support cloud integration and modernization initiatives

Required Skills and Experience

Public Sector Experience

• 5 years supporting public sector or healthcare environments

• Experience producing technical documentation aligned with public sector standards

• Familiarity with public sector I and IT governance project management and approval processes

• Experience working on large complex health related IT initiatives

Technical Skills Mandatory

• 10 years experience in IT with strong focus on AWS cloud platforms

• Hands on experience managing AWS services including VPC IAM EC2 S3 ELB Auto Scaling API Gateway Lambda Aurora Redshift CloudTrail CloudWatch Active MQ

• Knowledge of AWS services such as Amazon Connect DynamoDB Kinesis Pinpoint Polly

• 5 years experience with Unix and Linux systems including Red Hat and Solaris

• Experience with containers and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes

• Strong understanding of cloud security identity networking and encryption

• Experience with DevOps tools CI CD pipelines and version control

• Exposure to Salesforce and MuleSoft integrations is an asset

Core Technical Capabilities

• Troubleshooting and tuning production environments

• Designing and maintaining system architecture and technical documentation

• Scripting using Python Bash or similar languages

• Automation using tools such as Git Jenkins Ansible Chef or Puppet

• API integration and service based architectures

• Implementing monitoring metrics and logging solutions

• Evaluating new technologies and recommending improvements
