Job Summary
Job Summary Mainframe Application Developer (COBOL/CICS/ADABAS)
- Design develop enhance and support enterprise mainframe applications using COBOL CICS ADABAS VSAM and IBM JCL
- Analyze debug and resolve application defects in both batch and online mainframe environments
- Collaborate with technical and business teams (business analysts QA stakeholders) to deliver software solutions
- Develop automated solutions and monitor application performance
- Perform unit and system testing to ensure software quality
- Review business requirements and translate them into detailed technical specifications
- Create and maintain technical documentation work/action plans and system problem resolutions
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues during nightly batch cycles and provide technical support
- Adhere to mainframe development standards best practices and operational procedures
- Estimate schedules and provide technical performance projections for assigned tasks
- Maintain strong communication and customer service throughout the project lifecycle
- Utilize strong analytical problem-solving and technical writing skills
- Stay current with new technologies APIs and programming languages for legacy modernization
