Building Engineer
Shift: 6:00 AM 3:00 PM
Location: Carson CA
Overview
The Building Engineer is responsible for operating maintaining troubleshooting and repairing facility systems. This role requires strong technical skills independent work capability and a commitment to safety reliability and high operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on mechanical electrical HVAC plumbing hydraulic fire/life safety and control systems.
Monitor and maintain facility equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with standards.
Manage daily tasks using an electronic work order system.
Support inventory control vendor coordination and contracted maintenance services.
Perform general maintenance tasks including painting locksmith work and special projects as assigned.
Maintain a clean safe and organized work environment.
Work at heights up to 26 feet and lift up to 50 lbs.
Participate in on-call rotation including weekends.
Assist with operational reporting and compliance requirements.
Mentor and support other engineering team members as needed.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years of commercial facility maintenance experience.
CFC Universal Certification required.
Certification in at least two of the following: Electrical HVAC Plumbing/Piping Hydraulics or Central Utility Plant Operations.
Proficient with computers smartphones and Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong communication skills and professional conduct.
