Job Title: Database Administrator

Location: Plano TX or McLean VA (5 Days in Office) - Local

Role Overview

The Database Administrator will be responsible for designing deploying and managing enterprise-grade PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases in AWS environments. This role requires strong hands-on database administration expertise cloud experience and prior technical leadership to support high availability performance and secure data operations.

Key Responsibilities

Design deploy and maintain PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases in AWS environments
Ensure high availability scalability security and performance of database systems
Monitor database health optimize performance and manage backup and recovery strategies
Enforce access controls security policies and compliance standards
Lead database migrations including planning execution validation and post-migration support
Ensure data integrity and minimal downtime during migrations and upgrades
Collaborate closely with engineering and application teams to align database solutions with business needs
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers
Document database architectures standards best practices and operational procedures

Must-Have Qualifications

Strong expertise in PostgreSQL including advanced database administration
Hands-on experience with MongoDB
Prior technical lead or senior-level experience
Experience working with AWS or cloud-based database environments

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

Experience working with Freddie Mac Fannie Mae or Capital One
Professional certifications in PostgreSQL MongoDB or AWS
Experience migrating databases to cloud-native solutions
Knowledge of AWS services database automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
