Job Summary

We have a great opportunity for a Construction Estimator in Las Vegas NV

This individual will be responsible for producing accurate and timely bid estimates for existing and potential clients. Primary focus is estimates for General Contractors on new projects requiring landscape installation. Along with negotiating pricing with vendors subcontractors performing site assessments and making decisions on how to adjust price based upon circumstances of site or project.
The ideal candidate is capable of ensuring estimates are produced in a timely and accurate fashion in order to present and win an above average percentage of the jobs proposed while staying abreast of product supply and sub-contractor prices as well as the Companys operating production capabilities to ensure accurate estimates.

Compensation Range: $80000-$115000 depending on experience

Work Hours - we are looking for someone who is flexible based on project requirements

Responsibilities/Activities

Perform all aspects of bidding process including: measuring properties for field estimates reviewing invitations to bid pre-site inspections and preparing estimates.
Submit accurate Company bids in a timely and effective manner.
Frequent customer contact to discuss project and make changes/corrections as needed.
Secure and manage suppliers in conjunction with production staff for all products and services the project will require. Negotiate with suppliers to the lowest possible price without creating adversarial relationships that could affect quality or on-time delivery.
Pre Installation/Service: review contracts write up new job information write subcontracts and change orders secure performance and payment bonds when necessary.
Provide value engineering ideas that may improve the Companys competitive position and establish the Company as a subject matter expert within the market.
Installation/Service: attend on-site job meetings monitor quality of plant material and document activities in order to complete installation in a satisfactory manner.
Maintain keen awareness and provides candid feedback on customer relationship and the customers perceptions of the product and service being provided to maximize customer retention.
Communicate to appropriate parties any problem areas and work to find immediate resolution.
Analyze awarded bids for estimating accuracy
Represent Company at various events organizations and associations for the purpose of building relationships that leads to new business. Act in capacity of Company representative and develop community ties to enhance public image and brand of the Company. Maintain a positive relationship with other companies in the industry.
Participate in various industry associations to increase knowledge of marketplace sales opportunities the competition selling techniques and best practices.
Maintain current vendor files that include contact information manuals pricing and product catalogues.
Continuously searches for new products and/or vendors capable of advancing company goals and ensures new products or vendors are qualified tested and/or approved to be reliable before utilizing.
