Job Title: Pharmacy Technician
Location: Soldier Readiness Processing Center (SRP) William Beaumont Army Medical Center (WBAMC) 18511 Highlander Medics St Fort Bliss TX 79906 and outlying clinics.
Tentative Start Date: 1 April 2026
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 0500-1630 (SRP operational hours). Up to 48 mission-driven overage hours per FTE may be required annually beyond regularly scheduled duty hours as authorized by the Government.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or GED; Graduate of a pharmacy technician training program approved by a state board the Department of Defense or a nationally recognized accrediting body.
Experience:
Minimum of one (1) year of recent experience within the last two (2) years working as a Pharmacy Technician in an outpatient ambulatory care hospital or military pharmacy setting.
Experience preparing labeling and dispensing medications under pharmacist supervision.
Experience reviewing medication orders for completeness and accuracy prior to pharmacist verification.
License / Certification:
Current unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license or registration as required by the issuing state.
Certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or Red Cross) required.
Other Requirements: U.S. Citizenship required.
Responsibilities:
Support Soldier Readiness Processing (SRP) pharmacy operations by preparing medications for service members undergoing mobilization demobilization redeployment and separation.
Receive process and prepare medication orders for pharmacist review and verification.
Accurately label package and stage medications for dispensing in accordance with pharmacy procedures.
Perform medication reconciliation support activities by collecting and organizing medication history information as directed.
Maintain pharmacy workflow to support high-volume SRP processing timelines and required patient throughput.
Coordinate with pharmacists to resolve incomplete unclear or missing prescription information.
Manage inventory tasks including stocking rotating and tracking medications and supplies used during SRP operations.
Document assigned pharmacy support activities in MHS GENESIS or other Government-designated pharmacy systems as directed.
Support surge pharmacy operations during peak MOB/DEMOB cycles including extended duty hours when mission required.
