Job Summary

Job Title: Licensed Vocational Nurse

Location: Soldier Readiness Processing Center (SRP) William Beaumont Army Medical Center (WBAMC) 18511 Highlander Medics St Fort Bliss TX 79906 and outlying clinics.

Tentative Start Date: 1 April 2026

No. of FTEs Required: 23 FTEs

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 0500-1630 (SRP operational hours). Up to 48 mission-driven overage hours per FTE may be required annually beyond regularly scheduled duty hours as authorized by the Government.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program approved by a state board of nursing.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of one (1) year of recent clinical experience (within the last two years) working as an LVN/LPN in a clinical ambulatory care primary care occupational health or medical support setting.
  • Experience performing patient intake vital signs clinical screenings and assisting with medical procedures.
  • License / Certification:
    • Current unrestricted LVN/LPN license issued by any U.S. state or territory
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or Red Cross) required.
  • Other Requirements: U.S. Citizenship required.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care in support of Soldier Readiness Processing (SRP) mobilization demobilization redeployment and separation-related medical activities.
  • Perform patient intake functions including obtaining vital signs height/weight measurements medical histories and preliminary health screenings.
  • Assist providers with medical examinations procedures treatments and readiness-related assessments.
  • Prepare patients and examination rooms; ensure proper setup cleanliness and availability of supplies and equipment.
  • Administer medications immunizations and treatments within scope of practice and as directed by supervising providers.
  • Collect label and process specimens for laboratory testing in accordance with established procedures.
  • Accurately document patient care activities vital signs treatments and observations in MHS GENESIS or other Government-designated electronic health record systems.
  • Monitor patients for changes in condition and promptly report concerns or abnormal findings to supervising clinical staff.
  • Support patient flow and throughput in a fast-paced high-volume readiness environment.
  • Support extended hours or surge operations during peak MOB/DEMOB or SRP mission periods as directed by the Government.
  • Adhere to all DoD DHA Army and Medical Treatment Facility policies procedures and clinical standards.
