Job Summary

Job Title: Pharmacist

Location: Soldier Readiness Processing Center (SRP) William Beaumont Army Medical Center (WBAMC) 18511 Highlander Medics St Fort Bliss TX 79906 and outlying clinics.

Tentative Start Date: 1 April 2026

No. of FTEs Required: 2 FTEs

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 0500-1630 (SRP operational hours). Up to 48 mission-driven overage hours per FTE may be required annually beyond regularly scheduled duty hours as authorized by the Government.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from a college or school of pharmacy accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience within the last three (3) years practicing as a licensed pharmacist in an outpatient ambulatory care hospital or clinical pharmacy setting.
  • Experience reviewing medication histories and profiles to identify drug interactions contraindications duplications and compliance issues.
  • Experience verifying prescriptions dispensing medications and providing medication counseling to adult patients.
  • License / Certification:
    • Current unrestricted Pharmacist license issued by any U.S. state or territory
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or Red Cross) required.
    • National Provider Identifier (NPI) required.
  • Other Requirements: U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities:

  • Review verify and dispense medications for service members processed through Soldier Readiness Processing (SRP) mobilization demobilization redeployment and separation activities.
  • Conduct medication profile reviews to identify drug interactions allergies contraindications therapeutic duplications and compliance concerns that may impact medical readiness or deploy ability.
  • Provide medication counseling to service members including instructions for use side effects storage requirements and adherence considerations.
  • Review prescribed medications in support of deployment determinations and identify medications that require waivers substitutions or follow-on review.
  • Coordinate directly with physicians nurse practitioners and physician assistants to clarify prescriptions recommend therapeutic alternatives and resolve medication-related issues.
  • Support medication reconciliation activities during readiness processing and separation health evaluations.
  • Document medication reviews interventions and counseling activities in MHS GENESIS or other Government-designated pharmacy systems.
  • Maintain required patient-per-hour throughput consistent with other pharmacists supporting SRP operations.
  • Support surge pharmacy operations during high-volume MOB/DEMOB cycles including extended duty hours when required.
  • Ensure medications are handled stored and dispensed in accordance with Army DHA and Medical Treatment Facility policies.
