Were looking for a driven and experienced Director of Purchasing to join a stable and well established leader in the flexible packaging industry. This role is critical to overseeing procurement operations ensuring cost efficiency supplier reliability and compliance with quality standards while driving continuous improvement across the supply chain.

As Director of Purchasing you will direct and coordinate all aspects of raw material sourcing vendor management contract negotiation and inventory planning. Youll work closely with production finance and quality teams to address supply chain challenges optimize resources and strengthen supplier partnerships. This position requires strong analytical skills leadership ability and the capacity to foster a culture of accountability and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

Lead procurement strategy for resins films additives and packaging components
Negotiate contracts and secure competitive pricing with suppliers
Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure reliability and quality
Oversee inventory planning logistics coordination and on time delivery of materials
Collaborate with production and R&D teams to support new product development
Monitor market trends and mitigate risks related to resin price volatility and supply chain disruptions
Ensure compliance with ISO GMP and food safety standards in supplier operations
Implement continuous improvement initiatives (Lean Six Sigma Kaizen) in purchasing processes
Manage and mentor a team of buyers and procurement staff

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Business Engineering or related field (preferred)
10 years of purchasing/procurement experience with at least 5 years in flexible packaging market.
Prior experience procuring materials (Globally) for the development of films labels and similar flexible packaging products is a REQUIRED.
A detailed understanding of flexographic processing and operations is REQUIRED.
Strong knowledge of resin markets (polyethylene polypropylene PET additives)
Proven negotiation and contract management skills
Experience with ERP systems (SAP JDE NetSuite) and procurement analytics tools
Excellent leadership communication and cross functional collaboration skills
Track record of delivering cost savings and supplier performance improvements
