Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN Circulate & Scrub)

Schedule: 8-hour rotating shifts 40 hours per week

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) with circulating and scrub experience to support surgical services in a fast-paced acute care environment. This role requires flexibility with rotating shifts and availability to work consecutive weekends as needed while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and surgical care.

Key Responsibilities

Provide safe high-quality perioperative nursing care as a circulator and scrub nurse.
Prepare operating rooms ensure sterile technique and verify surgical equipment and supplies.
Assist surgeons and anesthesia providers during procedures anticipating patient and procedural needs.
Perform accurate surgical counts specimen handling and documentation per policy.
Monitor patient status throughout the perioperative process and respond appropriately to changes.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies infection control standards and regulatory requirements.
Document care accurately and timely using the designated EMR system (Cerner).
Participate in holiday and weekend coverage as required.

Required Qualifications

Active Hawaii Registered Nurse (RN) license required prior to contract start.
Minimum 5 years of Operating Room nursing experience.
Demonstrated experience in both circulating and scrub roles.
Ability to work 8-hour rotating shifts and consecutive weekends as needed.

Certifications

BLS/BCLS (required)
ACLS (required)
Additional certifications such as PALS NRP or specialty perioperative certifications preferred/accepted per facility standards.

Additional Information

Holiday coverage required (holiday rate applies only if the shift begins on the holiday).
Bilingual not required.
State compliance process differs from other Hawaii health systems; advance contracting not required.
