Job Summary:
The CNA / Medication Technician (CNA-M) is a vital member of the patient care team responsible for providing direct and indirect care to residents in a long-term care setting. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse this role supports a safe therapeutic environment while assisting with activities of daily living and administering medications in accordance with state regulations.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Assist residents with activities of daily living including personal hygiene mobility and mealtimes.

Administer medications via approved routes including oral topical vaginal rectal and inhalation.

Accurately document all medications administered omitted or refused.

Observe and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff.

Maintain a clean safe and supportive care environment.

Deliver compassionate resident-centered care with a focus on dignity and safety.
Education & Certification Requirements:

Graduate of a Maine State Board approved CNA program.

Active listing on the Maine CNA Registry.

Graduate of a Maine State approved Certified Medication Administration program.
-
CNA-M coursework must be clearly listed on the State of Maine CNA certification.
Experience Requirements:
Skills & Qualifications:

Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
-
Effective written verbal and oral communication abilities.
-
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred but not required.
-
Ability to follow medication administration protocols and nursing instructions.
Shift & Schedule:
Additional Information:

Candidates with licensure issues will not be considered.
-
Up to 16 hours of orientation may be unpaid.
-
Contract shifts may be canceled in accordance with contract guidelines.
-
Candidate must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility.
